There is no bank that is best for every SME. There is a bank that is best for your financial profile, your industry, your ownership structure and the facility you need. Any ranking published without reference to your numbers is a general article, not advice about your business.
Why we do not name banks in writing
We work with all participating banks offering the relevant Working Capital Loan schemes rather than restricting clients to one. We do not publish a league table or claim a partnership with any named institution, because the honest answer changes case by case and because an unverified relationship claim helps nobody. The specific banks and financing routes available to your business are something we go through with you after an initial assessment.
What actually differs between lenders
- Qualifying criteria. The thresholds are not identical.
- Credit appetite. Two banks can read the same financials very differently.
- Restricted industries. A sector one lender avoids may be routine for another.
- Facility preferences. Some are more comfortable with certain structures than others.
- Processing. Speed and documentation requirements vary.
How the shortlist gets chosen
We assess the company’s financials, business activities, ownership structure, existing facilities and overall funding requirement. From that we work out which participating banks are likely to be most suitable and how the application should be positioned for each. Then the case goes out to that shortlist in parallel. Read more about why parallel beats sequential.
If you want a single recommendation
Start with the bank that already holds your operating account, because they can see your conduct. Then have the case assessed properly before you extend beyond that, so the second and third applications are chosen rather than guessed. Approval, quantum, tenure and pricing remain each bank’s own credit decision.
Talk to us about your case
Every business is different, and the only honest way to answer “can we get this funded” is to look at your numbers. Send us your company name, roughly how much you need and what it is for, and we will tell you whether there is a case worth building. Speak to us, or read how it works.
Cornerstone Capital Services Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202622107K) is a business financing consultancy and is not a bank or a licensed moneylender. Loan approval, final quantum, tenure and interest rates are determined solely by the participating financial institutions and are subject to their credit assessment. Scheme figures shown are published by Enterprise Singapore and may change.
